Science

We have developed our own Science scheme of work with help from the S.C.A. Science curriculum. We cover the national curriculum with Scientific Enquiry (SC1) as our core and hands-on experimentation as our method. Life Processes and Living Things (SC2) are supported by work at The Plot and visits to Woods' Mill and Wilderness Wood.

During last summer Year 5 and 6 children found it difficult to understand how a river gradually changes composition along its length. Following their suggestion, we followed the River Adur from mouth to source, amalgamating observations of flora, fauna, geology and water composition.
