Art, Craft, Design and Technology

Art Mask - Hanna - Aged 9 In the Nursery and Lower School, children explore as many differing appropriate skills, techniques and materials as possible.

In the Middle and Upper School children have the opportunity to express themselves and experiment with 2-D and 3-D forms, textures, patterns and colours. They are encouraged to discriminate between appropriate materials and techniques at the design stage. We cover the National Curriculum for Art, Craft and Design and for Design Technology (We are seeking to extend the latter at the moment).

All children's work is displayed (not just the best) to provide an aesthetically pleasing environment that gives visual and tactile stimulation to the children. Children experience pleasure (sometimes therapeutic) through their activities.
