Attendance

Education Regulations (1991) require schools to carry out careful monitoring of pupil attendance and punctuality. We ask parents to support us, knowing that lessons start punctually at 9.00 am for the Nursery, Reception and Year 1 and at 8.45 am for the older children. However, please do not bring your children into school more than 15 minutes before the school day starts as staff need time to prepare. If this presents a problem for you, please talk to Dr. Drake to make special arrangements.

Uniform

A lot of effort (and trial and error!) has gone into making our uniform both practical and comfortable to wear, and enjoyable to the children. School Uniform is compulsory and is sold in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please either make an appointment with Mrs. Sykes or fill up a Uniform form which is by the telephone in the Front entrance and put it in the "Uniform order box" above with cheque or cash.

  • Each child should change into "Indoor shoes" (black plimsolls or blue Doodles) when they arrive in school. They are kept in their shoe bag, clearly labelled on the outside.
  • Outdoor shoes should be easy for children to manage on their own: Velcro or easy buckle fastenings, rather than laces, will encourage independence for the younger children.
  • Our uniform is comprised of a polo shirt and sweatshirt showing our school shield, grey trousers/skirt and a grey duffle coat in winter or blue shorts/skirt, blue anorak or fleece in summer. A lightweight raincoat is also available.
  • A protective overall is provided for craft work.
  • School swimming costumes, bags, goggles and caps, sports clothes and leotards are also required.
  • Please mark and maintain all clothes clearly with your child's name.
  • There is a school hat and scarf for the colder months and a sun hat for summer.
  • Second-hand uniform is available twice yearly.
  • We suggest you change from summer to winter uniform and vice versa when the weather is appropriate, rather than fixed, dates.

Parking

Please park in the side roads if possible and please respect our neighbours' entrances. In the interest of safety double parking is naturally forbidden.
